first job

101 in 1001 newly updated to start in 2015……

Since my new mantra since graduating is: JUST DO IT , I have been making a lot of lists. Most of these lists have to do with how I am going to get what I want and my brain in the right place……And this is my 101 in 1001. A 1001 days is about 2.75 years so that means having everything done by 9.2017. And it’s a list of everything I have really ever wanted to do so it’s a mixture between a bucket list and goals list. The time frame is perfect long enough to do the bigger things without the pressure of a year …. and short enough to grow with me while I check them off and finish it.

Start: Januray 15   2015
End: September 30  2017

April Goals Recap

  1. Update master resume.- Kinda happened. I mostly just made sure I knew what I had on my resume was applicable to what I was applying for and tailored it to the job description.
  2. Learn more about SEO optimization and implement it on my blog. Didn’t happen
  3. Check on Fall internship dates.- Got them just havent written them down in my planner or figured out how a plan to get everything done. The sudden need for a job has kinda overtaken this.
  4. Order GRE and figure out testing date. – Didn’t get to it because my priorites have changed and grad school is further down the list. And by further down the list I mean that its not off the list but other adult things like paying for student loans take priority.
  5. Master Plan for grad school. More on that later. – yeah didn’t happen, my plans have kind of been readjusted in this whole look for a job furry.
  6. Just keep being positive that I will get through this rough spot.- Some days are good and others are bad, and others you just need to cry. I am getting better at this but a talk with my dad surprisingly helped.

A really late graduation post…….

Here are some pictures that my friend took along with after the ceremony. I figure now is just as good a time as ever since everyone is graduating now and I just got my first student loan payment statement in the mail.

And now because of change of plans I am now really applying to jobs. When things don’t work it is best to learn from it and move on. Most times in life you come back even better than when you fell and hit whatever is in your way.

Week In Review

Whew. Its been a week. I feel like I always say that though. The past couple of weeks have been a learning experience about what works and what doesn’t. I guess that is part of being a part of new business.

The good news is that through all of this I am learning new skills.

I have just started my grad school search and process. So YAY.

I’ve been given more opportunities to use my skills at my internship so another YAY.

I am just tired and still lacking a routine which is annoying me. I like routines. I like knowing what is going on. It must be the type A in me. I guess if I really want to get my stuff done I just need to organize my time better and just do it.

I was thinking of going to CPAC once I found the great deal from YAL, but then airfare is killing me. So I think that’s a no go for this year. Mostly because I am broke.

Another thing that I have found: when the days aren’t looking that good and I do my SheReadsTruth devotion I feel much better. It’s a nice reminder that we are not in control and that HE has a plan for us. This is not to say we shouldn’t work with what we have and the opportunities we have been given.

That’s it for now.

Hopefully next week I can post some more. Or maybe schedule some posts this weekend. Now time to clean and do some research.

My #2014Mantra

I originally got this idea from Maxie at Iloinspired. I found her blog, and  McKenzie Horan’s blog from College Prepster and it could not have been at a better time with me just graduating from college this December and me going back to live at home. Since I am living at home I am in a totally new atmosphere than I am used to at school.

At school I had structure and knew exactly what was going on , which is something I like a lot. I am a very type a controlling person; I like to know what I am doing how I am supposed to do something and stuff. For the past month it has been all about making goals and what I want to do with my life and how I am going to get there.

I have realized one thing though, that if I want to accomplish my goals I have to go outside of my comfort zone. This has come from my parents, #SheReadsTruth and other people in different forms and after I have heard it a couple of times I figure they must be on to something. What that something is other than sounding a little crazy I have still to figure out.

Even though I don’t understand everything doesn’t mean I shouldn’t give it a try.

How I plan to live this year is with a #FreshStart , #JustDoIt and #WhyTheHellNot, #SteppingStones

I have been encountered with lots of opportunities that I need to take although I know I don’t know everything so that I can get to things I want in the long run.

Heres to making #2014 the year of big things.

2014 Resolutions , Goals

The way I decided to do my resolutions was to pick major parts of my life that I want to improve upon and then concentrate on one group at a time. This is similar to what CollegePrepster did last year.

1. Confidence- Although I believe that I am pretty dang awesome and know what I am good at; which is politics sometimes I don’t think I am as awesome and I am and second guess my abilities.

2. Networking / Relationships – Given I have just graduated college and am always thinking about the future, this is important because I can use networking to get to know people in my field, which is important, especially in politics, to eventually get a job I want being able to help people.

And I am living in a new place and don’t know anyone. I need to get to know some people here and make some friends.

3. Organization- I thought I wouldn’t be as busy without college, nope, just as busy if not busier between juggling a job, and blogging. I also want to expand my blog so this will be important. I have already started with this given I have been moving into my room at home and working from home.

4. Faith- This is hard for me just because I went from having an AMAZING CHURCH/CC Family at College to knowing no one. I have also had a hard time accepting things in GOD’s time instead of MY TIME. I started doing a SheReadsTruth Bible Study with Carlee and loving it.

I plan on concentrating on one aspect a month and reading books and then implementing ideas from the books.

Monday Motivation

9668e0fe02efc948bf2589bfe59f43cb

This could not describe this semester any better. I am so close to hopefully landing a great internship but the process between applications and my classes is basically got me loosing my mind. Like right now I am currently trying to write something that was due 2 weeks ago( Hopefully when this posts I will have it done).

I love writing I love connecting things but at this point I am to the point of brain dead and in kind of need of a miracle. Between just graduation stuff I am going crazy and I cannot tell you how many times I am on the verge of tears due to stress.

This is comforting because right now I am totally loosing my mind although I am following my heard although I know its not what my parents want but I want……..which is a congressional internship in DC.

Extra Dose of Motivation

This is how I feel right now. Like I can barley keep my head above the water but I also feel that all my work will pay off in the end. But right now its all falling apart around me and I am in one big giant mystery of where is my life going. And that maybe just maybe the past three years of hell in various ways will all be worth it and its my turn for stuff to go right.
I have applied and not gotten so many jobs in the past three years its getting to me. They were more just filler jobs until I got out of college and now I am applying for what I think I really want and I just want it to work out. Because I am running out of ideas, steam and motivation.
So just keep holding on, doing my best with out stressing too much and just wait. As hard as it is that is what I need to do. So here’s to saying some prayers and leaving it all up to God who has a plan that is far better than I could ever imagine.
