graduation

101 in 1001 newly updated to start in 2015……

Since my new mantra since graduating is: JUST DO IT , I have been making a lot of lists. Most of these lists have to do with how I am going to get what I want and my brain in the right place……And this is my 101 in 1001. A 1001 days is about 2.75 years so that means having everything done by 9.2017. And it’s a list of everything I have really ever wanted to do so it’s a mixture between a bucket list and goals list. The time frame is perfect long enough to do the bigger things without the pressure of a year …. and short enough to grow with me while I check them off and finish it.

Start: Januray 15   2015
End: September 30  2017
So here they are….. 101 in 1001

And now because of change of plans I am now really applying to jobs. When things don’t work it is best to learn from it and move on. Most times in life you come back even better than when you fell and hit whatever is in your way.

This is what I am leaning to be my #2014 Mantra……… Its simple and to the point. Sure , I am not doing what I originally planned to do, but I am learning stuff that will help me in the future.

I hope to just take whatever opportunities come my way and learn to make the best of them by changing how I look at them.

That’s all for now. I have a working and organized desk. YAY #LittleThings

Thankful Thursday

1. Music…….. because it explains my emotions so much better than I can ever. Yes, I actually have them, even though I act like don’t. For that I have my reasons…mostly being what is their use?

2. My education- Lame as that sounds. These past four and half years have taught me so much and I have met some amazing people along way. It has definitely solidified my passion politics. I mean I knew in sophomore year of high school when I took a trip there with my class. And my AP US History teacher who would go on about ATF and ICE…….I enjoyed every minute of it.

Sure, right now I have no idea what my job is going to be after I graduate or my plans after. But I am sure somehow someway I am going to make a difference. Given all the hell I get about the government from my father………..Ill figure out a way. Cause end of story.

3. All my new twitter conservative girls……..who I am not even sure who you all are. basically that convo saved my sanity.

4. Blogging. It has kinda changed my perspective on stuff and made me actually sit down and think, and then write my thoughts logically. That process would be great to happen for any of the papers I am currently writing.

5. Family and Friends – The select few that I have when it comes to friends- I wouldn’t trade them for anything. This kinda goes back to all the awesome people I have met these past four and half years. And for the ones I have known since 7th grade who no matter how long its been since we talked we pick up right where we left off. And even though in these conversations it seems I have all the #awkward stories. #StoryOfMyLife

And family— Well we have our differences and rough patches but I know you only want what is best for me. Wouldn’t trade them for anything either.

This could not describe this semester any better. I am so close to hopefully landing a great internship but the process between applications and my classes is basically got me loosing my mind. Like right now I am currently trying to write something that was due 2 weeks ago( Hopefully when this posts I will have it done).

I love writing I love connecting things but at this point I am to the point of brain dead and in kind of need of a miracle. Between just graduation stuff I am going crazy and I cannot tell you how many times I am on the verge of tears due to stress.

This is comforting because right now I am totally loosing my mind although I am following my heard although I know its not what my parents want but I want……..which is a congressional internship in DC.

Waiting

I am absolutely horrible at it. I am waiting to hear back from so many internships including the one I had the interview for. And I keep checking my email like every hour on the hour. And because I do not like not knowing I keep applying but if given the opportunity I would totally accept the one that seems most promising.
What makes it so hard is that basically I have slowly realized over this semester that I have never really wanted anything more. And that I just feel like its where I belong, crazy as that sounds, Washington DC.
Until I hear back I have a couple more internships to apply to, two papers to write, a Spanish test to study for………… I have stuff to keep me busy but its so hard when you feel like you are so close to something that you have wanted for ever, or at least until sophomore year of high school.
And I have to not get ahead of myself………..it may be a little late for that. I already spent two hours on google maps exploring DC.

I just checked my email again……Its all I have been doing. And I am now waiting to hear back from three different internships. But oddly enough I am really relaxed and feel like i could sleep all weekend, but unfortunately i cannot. I have stuff I need to be doing…..but i keep checking my email. I am not supposed to hear anything till next week.

This is harder than I thought it would be.

Thankful Thursday

Sorry I am slacking on posts.

1. My friends. I feel like this in every post but it has made me realize that I actually have amazing friends. Getting together , even to do little things does amazing things for my mood and my motivation, most of the time. I mean minus last night when I ran into some friends at Chick-Fil-A and ended up going to Improv at the coffee shop. It was the first time I had gone this year and figured… im graduating so yeah. So basically just talking to some for like 5 mins does miracles.

2. My family. They have been relatively understanding about me not going home because if I go I want to spend time with them, and not do homework. And my sister said she missed me and that made me go and look at pictures for an hour and miss her even more.

3. The fact that I had an interview yesterday( I am writing this on friday) whoops.

Wishlist Wednesday : Lilly Pulitzer and Sperry Topsider

If I have two favorite brands it has to be Lilly and Sperry’s. They are both so confortable. And given I am about to enter the business world and in my opinion , my wardrobe is seriously lacking, I find myself on the RueLala website when they have either of these on sale. That being said here is my wishlist from both of them.

The Gabriella Sweater Dress, $198

Gretchen Dress, $98

8088965_fpx

Cassie Dress in this color and black. I have two already and love them both……. and this one is only $88

Now for the Sperry’s

I am in need of some flats. As of now I only have one pair and they are white. I feel like the black could go with so much and I love the brown glitter. I am more of a brown girl than a black girl.  On the Sperry website they are $79. But when they are on RueLaLa they are less expensive and more in my budget.

This is the Hayden Women’s Loafer………..

Its brown and I think I need a pair of loafer in my wardrobe to go with more stuff and instantly dress things up.

And on the Sperry Website they are $85, and same thing with RueLaLa.

So there you go my wishlist for my professional wardrobe.

Extra Dose of Motivation

This is how I feel right now. Like I can barley keep my head above the water but I also feel that all my work will pay off in the end. But right now its all falling apart around me and I am in one big giant mystery of where is my life going. And that maybe just maybe the past three years of hell in various ways will all be worth it and its my turn for stuff to go right.
I have applied and not gotten so many jobs in the past three years its getting to me. They were more just filler jobs until I got out of college and now I am applying for what I think I really want and I just want it to work out. Because I am running out of ideas, steam and motivation.
So just keep holding on, doing my best with out stressing too much and just wait. As hard as it is that is what I need to do. So here’s to saying some prayers and leaving it all up to God who has a plan that is far better than I could ever imagine.
